The methods for preparation of lithium hexafluorophosphate were reviewed, and their advantages and disadvantages were discussed. The influence of the impurities in lithium hexafluorophosphate production on the performance of Li-ion batteries was discussed. The major factors affecting the quality of lithium hexafluorophosphate production were analyzed, and the possible methods to solve the above problem were put forward. Finally,some problems existing in lithium hexafluorophosphate production process were also discussed.
